This two-year programme is designed to equip students with a high level of proficiency and the essential musical theatre skills of singing, acting and dancing while providing the opportunity for practical performing experience. Students perform in productions in the purpose built theatre at the Performance Centre and get to work with musical directors and choreographers who are in demand in the New Zealand Musical Theatre industry.

- Singing – solo and chorus
- Jazz, tap and ballet
- Body conditioning
- Audition technique
- Musical theatre history
On successful completion of year two of the Diploma in Performing Arts (Dance), students may apply to pathway into year three of the Bachelor of Applied Arts (Performing Arts) and create a body of work in their discipline.
NCEA Level 2 or equivalent plus evidence of skills/ability/aptitude based on interview and audition
Proven equivalence to domestic entry requirements and IELTS 6.0 (no band lower than 5.5)
